Recertifying and Renewing: CSWIP Logbooks

Wed, 31 January, 2024

TWI Certification Ltd’s (TWI CLs) certification schemes have extensive entry and examination requirements, as well as a thorough review process, all of which is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to ISO/IEC 17024. As a result, our CSWIP and BGAS-CSWIP certifications are highly regarded, sought after, and more frequently, a mandatory prerequisites of employers.

Throughout their certification cycle, certificate holders are required to compile evidences to demonstrate how they meet the requirements of their certification scheme. This includes evidence of their work experience, continuous professional development (CPD) activities, and in some cases, records of eyesight tests. More information about these evidences can be found on our website.

Keeping a track of all of this information over a long period (usually five years) may seem like a difficult task, however, TWI CL has created a dedicated logbook* to make collating your evidence for your renewal or recertification as effortless as possible. Conveniently divided into 5 colour coded sections (personal, employment, CPD, eyesight tests and notes), the CSWIP logbook ensures that your record keeping is accurate, ordered and hassle-free, making the demonstration of your compliance easy and ensuring a smoother renewal process.

Certificate holders must keep, and update, their logbook throughout their employment so that it is ready for submission at their 10-year recertification point. All certificate holders are expected to submit their (original) completed logbook with their 10-year recertification application. Failure to do so may delay or prevent the processing of your recertification application.

For those who have duties requiring repeated “sign-offs” and details of their certification, CSWIP can also provide an official CSWIP stamp. The stamp displays your name, candidate number, and level of certification, making your sign-off process quick and effortless.

More details about our CSWIP logbooks and stamps, and how to order them, can be found on our website.

*please note that CSWIP Underwater Inspectors (3.1U and 3.2U) as well as CSWIP ROV Inspectors (3.3U)  and CSWIP Underwater Inspection Controllers (3.4U) are not required to complete a CSWIP logbook as part of their renewal process.
